An Email From The Radio ChickAs of Jan 3rd, we’ll be doing afternoon drive (3-7 pm) for Infinity broadcasting. We’ll be based out of the WXRK in NYC (Howard Stern’s current station) and will be adding additional markets throughout the course of our employment with Infinity, as part of the expansion of other “Free FM� hot talk stations around the country.
When Infinity first approached with their generous offer, I turned it down. Twice. They then returned with an irresistible combination of situation, compensation and guarantees. It is a tremendous package and big opportunity for all us on the show. My contract with Sirius did not prohibit us from doing terrestrial radio while broadcasting at Sirius. While it would be tough, we were prepared to honor our commitment to Sirius, and continue to host the midday slot on Stars 103, as well as PM Drive for Infinity. Sirius instead opted to release us from our contract. I completely understand their position.
We were saddened we were not able to explain, or even say goodbye to our Sirius listeners on air, but that was not our call.
You will be able to listen to the Radiochick show online beginning Jan 3rd, 2006. You can also stay in touch with the show by signing up on the mailing list at www.radiochick.com so we can notify you of big news, like new market announcements when they happen. We might be coming to a station near you in the not too distant future.
Our listeners at Sirius were tremendous. We are very grateful to you for making the experience at Sirius so enjoyable for us. Thank you.

This sucks. The Radio Chick was by far my favorite Sirius talk show. She, along with Chuck and Butch were much better than Stern IMHO.

Anyone else think that it is interesting that Infinity hired the Chick back to do afternoon drive and said that she was starting in NYC, but going to be on "OTHER MARKETS" over time... and that Don and Mike are talking to Sirius and leaving DC's "Free FM" station possibly... and the Chick.... moving back... this could be even more evidence that Don and Mike might be leaving Infinity!!
Hey Sirius, stop wasting money on shit shows such as Adam Currie, Richard Simmons, Talkin with the cuz, Robert Evans etc. etc.. they are unlistenable (I've tried!)and unless America, Canada, and parts of Mexico have gone RETARDED they can't have any listeners!!! Start taking care of your big number quality shows such as Radio Chick, Jay Thomas, and all the shows on Maxim! It is HORSESHIT that you let the best show to come on any form of radio be bought back by fucking FM! Shame on you fuckhead beancounters at SIRIUS, with that kind of decision making its only a matter of time until XM rules the skies again even with the power of Howard Stern!!!!
Sirius is really losing me as a customer. They are acting like a second rate company. Get quality programming and keep it. And why does the talk stations..except for Maxim sound ike they're A.M. quality? No one seems to know the answer at Sirius tech support. XM talk stations aren't that way. I have both.

They obviously let her go because all she cared about was money (the reason she took the deal with WXRK) - Even though she could have stayed on SIRIUS, they probably thought "Fuck that!" - she brags about how her listeners are so important and then she sells out for $$$ - they obviously felt that she diluted her credibility and that her program wouldn't be the same, so they let her do what she wanted - take the $$$. FUCK HER, SIRIUS IS BETTER OFF WITHOUT HER. SHES A NOBODY ANYWAY

I am saddened at the loss of the RadioChick, and I cannot stand the show that replaced her! Come on Sirius... Entertain me!!
I enjoyed the show greatly for a year now,though not the best show ever I listend and enjoyed every day. I am saddend to see her go. However I feel she is definitly following the money,and as stated going back to a company that supports censership. I will miss the gang greatly,however I really hope she ends up fired and out of a job. She deserves it.
First off I would like to know which one of you Assholes, who have now turned on the Chick would not leave your current job for one that pays more? But I guess that is besides the point. Did anyone ever consider the fact she did this to get back to some of her long time listeners and devoted fans that she lost when she left FM radio in the first place. Her WNEW days were amazing, even if they were censored it never mattered, She is an amazing talker and any of you who actually listened know that, she kept us all entertained and now shes back for the masses not just those of us who can afford satelite radio. What ever the reason for her leaving even if it is for the money chances are she may just reach more people this way . To all of you faithful listeners out there, outside of NY it is sad and a pain to lose a friend even a radio one : ) But hopefully and only time will tell CBC will be in your area and you will have to put down your sirius radio (I did the lifetime subscription but I'll be doing this as well) dust off your old boombox/car radio/ whatever and listen to some really funny radio...
