Download My SIRIUS Studio Here

Friday, November 25, 2005

You do not need an S50 to enjoy this software! This is a nice way to listen to SIRIUS stations off the web. If you are getting an S50 or just want to take a look at the "My SIRIUS Studio" software, download it FREE HERE

My Sirius Studioâ„¢ is the PC software application used in conjunction with the SIRIUS S50 satellite media player. The following list provides a few highlights of the capabilities of the software:

* Import songs in MP3/WMA format to the S50.
* Create playlists and download songs to the playlists.
* Streaming of SIRIUS music channels over the internet (SIRIUS subscription required).
* Check for updates to the device software and download them to Sirius S50.

Note: WMA-DRM 10 content is not supported.

PC System Requirements:
Operating System: Windows XP or Windows 2000
Disk Space: Approximately 100MB

The download program file contains the following components:

* Microsoft .NET framework 1.1 or later
* Windows Media Player 9 (Windows 2000) or Windows Media Player 10 (Windows XP)
* Driver for the S50 (PortalPlayer Service Provider)
* My Sirius Studio Software Application User Manual

I agree with the poster above. When the S50 was finally out, I wondered if we'd be able to download this and if it would be beneficial to anyone else. Given the RAM footprint and no advanced features for the online player, I won't be using it. Nice to get the chance to play around with it though.

lol i get 91 megs. lol I have a gig of ram so it doesnt really matter. I like the idea of a program like this, and i'm sure they'll be able to work off this design for future versions.

It's effectively a frontend for Windows Media Player.. If you go into WMP you can sync directly with the S50 yourself. The Portalplayer driver basically adds WMP support to talk to the S50. :)

Awesome thanks! I didn't know you could do it via WMP 10. Tried it and it worked like a charm. Less bloat!

Sev -

I don't have my S50 yet, but I was on the phone with someone with one last night and I figured out what it was doing pretty quickly. Most apps that use .NET Framework are bloated unfortunately.

I can't wait to get my S50, should be sometime mid of next week. apparently has many in stock to sell, they emailed me to apologize that it'd be Monday when mine shipped out, that's still a lot better than 'sometime' which is basically what the other places are saying. :)

First thing I'm probably going to do is disassemble the car kit.. I'm a curious sort.

Does this mean, if I buy a S50, I can't record talk stations, or football or anything NON-Music?

No, you can record Talk, Football, and any non-music station by setting an in and out point, or you can also set it like a vcr to record an hour at a time, and yes you can set hours back to back to make a longer recording..

See the S50 review above for more info
