Breaking Update
GSI: Get Sirius Info has learned that all the events from Thursday were caused by Sirius not airing the Alan Colmes radio show on Sirius Left on Tuesday night. Sirius is under contract to air Colmes radio show witch is syndicated by Fox News Radio. In its place on Tuesday and Wednesday night Sirius aired Stephanie Miller in his time slot. "They sort of (Sirius), unceremoniously and in apparent violation of the contract, took Alan Colmes off," said Fox News Radio senior vp Kevin Magee. "We figured, if they weren'‘t going to honor the contract, neither were we." Sirius said that it was an "Admin error"... Magee from FOX also added that the deal with Sirius involving the Fox News television and Fox News Radio ends at 11:59 Dec 31st 2005, unless successfully renegotiated. I'm also told that Sirius has to use a cable TV feed to get Fox News TV audio back on the air, and was blind sided by Fox.. We will follow this story and keep you updated...

As a Sirius listner and a shareholder, Sirius programming needs Fox or I will be forced to listen to local radio.
Personally, I could care less about Fox News Channel. I'd just as soon they cut a deal with MSNBC, which I'm sure would be cheaper.
But I know a lot of people love Fox News, so I guess Sirius needs them to keep subscribers.
But for me, I'd be just as happy if they let Fox go and went with CNN and MSNBC instead.
As much as I value FNC in its video form, I somehow find it less than compelling in audio-only form. It's not unique in that respect; pretty much all of the TV news channels fall flat on radio compared to content specifically produced for listening (e.g. BBC World Service, NPR, etc.).
Fox News is really still the most accurate news out there, offering both sides and not in business to continually just trash our Govt. and country. (You surely can't trust CBS or CNN anymore.)
As a Serius subscriber, if Sirius drops the Fox News Talk and TV audio channels I will surely switch to XM.
if fox leaves sirius so do i.
If this news report is accurate, I applaud conservative FOX for standing up for their "lefty" guy Colmes. I’m not one to listen only to the news I want to hear. The main reason I picked Sirius was because it had the most balanced news programming with NPR, CNN and FOX among the others. If they loose FOX the loose this balance and they loose me. XM now has FOX and they recently added a Public Broadcasting station with NPR so I know where to go, just in case.
XMs Public Broadcasting has ZERO NPR content. NPR is only with SIRIUS and has 2 station. I'm FOX and SIRIUS do not make a deal look for MSNBC or other news outlet like AP news to join.
I agree with the previous poster that if Fox leaves, so do I...I will give them a brief while to get their act together. So far as a subscriber for over a year, I have been very disappointed with this outfit. They have been the worst company I have ever had to deal with. It will not hurt my feeling to switch to XM. Besides, I would like the NASCAR channel.
I am a long-time sirius subscriber and VERY UNHAPPY with sirius about removing Fox News from thier lineup. As of this Christmas I recieved a new S50 which is an AWSOME piece of equipment, but if sirius does not put Fox News back on I will be forced to revoke Both of my subscriptions and use this great piece of equipment as a paper weight. I really do like all of sirius's programming BUT where Fox goes I go. XM ??? I hope not.
I am extremely upset that Sirius has dropped Fox News. I listen to Fox about 80% of the time while driving. I would never have paid the $200 to have Sirius in my new truck if I had known of this. I was getting ready to pay several hundred to install an internal Sirius unit in my wife’s new car. If I do not quickly get news of them bring back Fox, then I will take my business to XM. Did I mention the horrible answering system they are using that makes it almost impossible to talk with a live person after being forced to listen to several minutes worth of worthless information.
As a lifetime subscriber to Sirius, I was very disappointed to find that FoxNews would no longer be aired. I listen to a wide range of programs, and the Fox was a nice balance to NPR, CNN and now, Howard Stern. I plan to ask for a partial refund and a termination of my subscription if this problem with Fox is not rectified.
I sent an email to Sirius management. I urge you guys to do the same. They responded that they are "in negotiations with Fox." We'll see. I have no qualms about switching to XM.
Sirius claims they will respond to email on their website, but when I fussed about not having Fox News... not a peep. Now I have to get XM. It seems Sirius is sinking to the same level as the recent human garbage (aka Howard) they are so hot on airing.
